hmmm.

Is it possible that, in subscribing my aged hotmail account to a daily yoga list, I have also subscribed myself to a "quotes of Jesus" list?

I'd pass one of them on, but all 20-some of these quotes (I check this account like once a month) are unbelievably self-righteous with their yipping about unbelievers and parables. I hope these folk weren't trying to get converts with their email list, cause they make this Jesus dude look like a prat.

Also, I know I've said this before, but it frustrates me no end that every health-related internets thing that has ads anywhere near it invariably includes something where I can click and it will tell me that I 'should' weigh 110 lbs.

hey you are like me! I am not overweight for my height...I am simply undertall for my weight. *nods* My philosophy...as long as you are happy with they way you are, fuck everyone else. *nods*

Yeah, I was blinking at that too. How tall are you, [livejournal.com profile] keryx?

I usually get told 145 (I'm five feet nine inches tall). I ooooooonly have to lose about 25% of my weight, per these morons...

I'm 5'2". Depending on how much I weigh now, I'd have to lose 40-50% of my body weight to conform to such guidelines. Which is absurd, and I can only imagine would make me very very ill in the process were I to try it.

These height/weight ratios never take body type into account. It's ridiculous.

I think I'm too self-righteous for that. My attitude is more... if you're happy the way you are, change everyone else so they are, too. ;)

Did you ever post to this list? Because a lot of lists have subscribers there who just randomly (and evilly) subscribe people to other lists that they think might be "useful". For example, there are some people who lurk on the Freecycle lists, and every time someone posts a "WANTED" mail, these people sign them up for "living frugally" or "being generous" mailing lists. Similarly, judging from occasional posts to [livejournal.com profile] yoga, I wouldn't be shocked if there are people out there who think anyone posting to a yoga list needs some more Jesus in their life and so just start signing them up for incoming Jesus.

This is just an announcement-style list, though. So I don't think another subscriber would be able to sign me up for craziness.

I wouldn't even mind the Jesus if it weren't so darn sanctimonious.
