some days, i'm so indecisive

So, I'm late posting this week's WHB topic cause I can't decide what to post. Help!?

I had been thinking about BDSM, ageplay, genderplay and kink in general, but then that topic kinda got beaten to death on LJ last week. 'Sides, I think we talked about that a little a few months ago.

And I've been kinda angry about how feminists talk like they agree with size acceptance and body love but don't do much about it or do things counter to it (this includes me), which got worse when I read Paul Campos talking about Susan Estrich's diet book. Estrich is sooooo not a feminist. But none of that really lends itself to a question so much as a rant. Maybe I could talk about the rebirth of Susan Powter in conjunct with Estrich and Curves-like working out and turn that into something everyone wouldn't automatically agree with.

I also had some random thoughts about politicians' wives and women politicians and the whole image game - kinda, can you be a feminist AND a politician, but we talked about that with Condoleeza Rice awhile ago.

I don't know what I want to ask a room full of feminists about today. Got any ideas?

Whether egg donation is a wonderful gift of life or a combination of the commodification of women's bodies and scary racist eugenics....

Hmmm. That combines well with something I meant to talk about long ago and forgot... the whole question of adoption and nannies and such - basically, the class relationship of women where parenting and conception is concerned. That might just be the thing.

Seriously, the class and gender and race issues are HUGE here. I personally want to hurl everytime I see the ads in my local paper asking young, white (always white) women to donate and egg and "make a miracle happen". Firstly, the process is THREE months of hormonal injections which forces the body to make many, many eggs in the time it normally would make 3-6, so that they can be harvested just once to save money. This one women I read about had 30 eggs harvested at the end of the 3 month period. No one reall knows how this effects our long-term health, and some women have had nightmare scenerios with months of spotting and cramps, etc.

Now, a "miracle" is everytime someone adopts an older kid, a child with special needs, or a sibling group so that they don't have to be seperated - or fosters a teenager. Not when Dick and Jane get that healthy white infant they bought and paid for.

You see, I have a bit of an opinion on this....
