Reading Paul Krugman's NYT fact v. fiction piece before the debate might put some context around it.

Although given the last two debates, I'm not sure I'm equipped to listen to another chunk of bickering. Particularly when both sides choose to cite "facts" that amount to different angles on the same data. It's mind-numbing. Can't we agree on one nationwide definition of "unemployment"? Of "small business"?

It's depressing. Monday night I started bawling as I watched Diary of a Political Tourist (link is to the Slate.com review, which is pretty descriptive of the level of discourse in the film). I was looking at Howard Dean on screen thinking That man is smart. And damn, we don't want that.

grump.

I think there is some sort of craptacularity virus floating around the... the everything. It started when dance class was cancelled for tonight (minor, yeah, but it was the start).

Things I do not want to deal with: people not doing their jobs at work, one more goddamned use of the label "sex-positive", general assiness and stupidity.

And I know this sounds stupid, but I really would like to be able to think "well, at least there's DANCE CLASS!".

Perhaps I will go soft ah Jon.
