I think I may be totally changing my perspective on shoes. With work going all-casual all the time, I've been able to wear flipflops and flats and comfy shoes a lot more. My cute little sandals and such are sitting on shelves most days of the week in favor of things like these (I don't own a pair of those Vivo Barefoot shoes, but I think I might soon - they look like a good idea in general, and particularly for dancing).

Wearing heels is a skill, it turns out, and requires some practice - I've got a few pair that I wore all the time last year that now feel all weird and spindly. I'm going to end up being anti-heel! I'll be the least femmey femme evah. The lighter and more flexible shoes seem to be doing wonderful things for my feet (although I have to compensate for the non-wonderful things heellessness does for my knees*)... but what will I wear next year, when work goes back to work clothes?

I'm thinking about wearing heels one day a week, so I don't fall out of practice, and to keep my knees in better shape. *grin*

* Ironically, the clunky heels I tend to wear help keep your knees engaged even though they do funky things to your feet; during that period when I kept dislocating knees, my physical therapist surprisingly encouraged the wearing of heels, especially platforms.
