a counter mix!

A little while ago, snidegrrl posted this idea for a really depressing mix about how everything cool and good was in the past. It made me want to cry.

Well, I was in my much-appreciated-by-the-14yrold-boys car this morning, listening to some much-appreciated-by-the-14yrold-girls Dashboard Confessional, and I was struck with another idea for a mix, a counter-mix, if you will: the I Believe Mix (or the Credo mix, if you're feeling Latin). Basically, songs about having your faith in things restored, maintained, challenged-but-unfaltering, whatever; songs about continuing to believe.

Off the bat, I came up with:
Dashboard Confessional's "Carry This Picture"
Monkees' "I'm a Believer"

And then kinda got stuck. I had to go to work. What songs would you put on this hypothetical mix?

I have a mix like this. It shares a great deal with the feministy mix I sent you guys. :)

If you think we were trying to make people cry with the idea you missed something, or I didn't get it across. The point, I believe, is to listen to those songs and laugh at sad pathetic people who live in the past. Seriously though I think Jack was just irritated at listening to people talk like that.

I didn't think you were TRYING to make me cry with that. ;) Sometimes I can laugh at that sort of thinking, but sometimes just thinking about that sort of thinking depresses me sooooo much.

Well off the top of my head I want to say Cher - Do you believe in life after love? and Make your own kind of music. I have others at home though! I can't remember them.

it is really cute. some people's look so much like them it is spooky! mine doesn't look like me, it's disney me! but it does look enough like me when i was 18 to count. except then i had short hair.
