we're going to be okay, really.
Nov. 3rd, 2004 01:30 pmI'm not saying I'm not saddened and angered. But we really will be fine after these four years are over. Really. We will do the best we can.
The social (or "moral") issues that people came out to vote against us on weren't going to be resolved by the magic of legislation, or possibly even by the magic of the Court. Kerry wasn't going to save us, and most of us were holding our noses voting for him in the first place. He was not the hope of millions, just the hope against whatever Bush, the little wanktard, has in store. And don't forget his wicked minions in your states!
This election proves how much work is still to be done. And, I know the C word doesn't sound like a good time or even a possibility with these people, but it also proves how much needs to be done through compromise. Why are people so angry at the left? I don't know, but there has to be something going one. I know my beliefs about where most people in this country are coming from have been, well - challenged. And by the way, I may kid about riot and revolt, but I really do believe that the true revolution is going to happen one person at a time.
Can I get a list of all the voters who checked the "moral issues" box? I'd like to take them out to lunch and for a walk around their cities. One by one.
So. I'm going to think about this some more, and then I'm going to go do the work that needs to be done. Because there's going to be that much more work.
