I was really prepared to be deeply offended by this, but my baser ("Mia Tyler is hotTtXxOMG") nature enticed me into watching one - and ONLY one - episode of the "Celebrity Fit Club" show.

And awwww... little Mia called stoopid trainer boy out for having warped views of attractiveness and health where weight is concerned.

It's otherwise complete crap, but it was nice to see probably the most famous person on the show remind people that the health and fitness professionals advising people on fitness are more influenced by cultural biases and misinformation than most folk.

That is on when ding0 and I go to the gym on Sunday nights. I remarked to him in the car that I really admired her for pointing that out; as well as her reason for being there in the first place.

I'm at the gym to get active; hitting 30 makes me realize that I need to get off my butt more (and I don't want to be like my mom at 57, out of shape and feeling like crap). I'm also doing weight work with an eye towards my dancing - ab and lower back for back bends, leg strength so I don't flop down, chest and arms so they don't surt so much from the "hug a big tree tribal arms". Class kicked me ass last night - lots of level changes with arm movements, my thighs are toast.

Cool. I'm all about fitness training for its own benefits (and weight training has been so good for dancing). It's the fitness training so you won't be an ugly fattie concept - what most of the b-list celebs on that show are thinking - that I hate.
