Those of you who know what it is, do you think WHB could still serve a purpose?

The site's been totally inactive since sometime in November, and given the prevalence of other fora for feminist discussion, it seems less useful than it was when I started it 2-3 years ago (back in the day when you could count the feminist bloggers you knew on your fingers and toes). Should I get rid of it? Or is there some other incarnation in which it might serve a meaningful purpose?

Discuss.

[to be cross-posted to WHB, obviously]

I've missed it, and I've been wondering what happened/was going to happen to it. I do think it could still serve a purpose. There are other feminist discussion fora, but I don't know of any other site that does quite what WHB does (there may be some, I just don't know of them). I really liked the way it worked. I think that it could be pared down a bit, perhaps made a bit more focussed, but I would really like to see it fully functional again.

What would you think about making it an LJ community? Using RSS feeds and stuff, I could probably keep publishing to the domain on some level but have the discussion happen here (and on people's individual blogs).

I really like that idea. I do miss the collab topics; they'd kick me into writing political stuff, and unfortunately I'm one of those people who needs to be kicked into it. And lj is such a great tool for community-building, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

I'll admit that just about the only thing I paid much attention to at WHB was the collab topics, and that would work just as well, maybe better, at LJ. It would be much easier to keep track of the topics and subsequent replies and discussion, for sure. LJ lends itself to that much better than the domain did. But I would like to see the topics posted at the domain as well, to reach people who don't really deal with LJ.

i still read the grrlynews, but that's it. of course, i was never a member to begin with. but maybe a reimagining in the lj-verse? like my watchdoggie, which is really very similar to many other sites, but is shpeshial because it's lj.

i would like to see lj feminists engaged in something brainy.

It has such an awesome domain name, it'd be a shame to ditch it!
