From the Well-Timed Period (which has an RSS feed on LJ, btw): bollocks to that whole "moment of conception" thing. In other words, facts and figures you can use to educate (or simply bore, depending on your audience) people into a less narftastic view of When Life Begins.

Those of you who know what it is, do you think WHB could still serve a purpose?

The site's been totally inactive since sometime in November, and given the prevalence of other fora for feminist discussion, it seems less useful than it was when I started it 2-3 years ago (back in the day when you could count the feminist bloggers you knew on your fingers and toes). Should I get rid of it? Or is there some other incarnation in which it might serve a meaningful purpose?

Discuss.

[to be cross-posted to WHB, obviously]

The 10 things I've done that you probably haven't, nyah, meme. From [livejournal.com profile] peregrin8, among others.

1. I was once hit by a car, and just stood up and kept walking to rehearsal. I still own a t-shirt from high school that says "I can't, I have a rehearsal", which apparently applies to emergency room visits.
2. I've stage-managed a show in a professional regional theatre, while in high school.
3. I've trained with a number of slightly odd theatre folks in their experimental styles.
4. I've acted in multiple plays done in a dive bar/club.
5. I bought a Scion.
6. I started an internet magazine called "Cuntzilla".
7. I have a little piece of paper signed by Ralph Nader (from waaaay before he ran for president) that really looks like it says "for a cutie citizen".
8. I once waited outside the Boathouse in Norfolk for at least an hour - maybe most of the day - in order to get Crowded House to sign my jeans (okay, so [livejournal.com profile] snidegrrl did, too - but none of the rest of you did).
9. In high school, I had a petition circulated against me by my fellow students because I had purple hair.
10. I named my cat for a contemporary Japanese novelist (and it's worth it to have to delete this one if one of you has a cat named Murakami or Mishima).
