Green & Black's makes hot chocolate. I've been buying their chocolate bars as my second favorite dessert for the past year or so. They make organic, fair trade chocolate that's darker & a lot less noxiously sweet/salty than the average mass-produced candy bar (if you're local, you can get them both at Ukrop's and Ellwood Thompson). Yummy and good for the world!

I liked regular hot cocoa until I started eating good chocolate; now that mix-with-water cocoa is just foul. This stuff rocks! And it's excellent in almond milk.

I read this book, When Elephants Weep, over Thanksgiving. It's not even all that well-researched or brilliantly written. In many ways, actually, it's like pop psychology but about animals, in that it focuses on anecdotes and emotional appeal.

But it pretty much solidified my desire to not eat anything farmed. I don't know if that desire will last, but currently the idea of any meat turns my stomach.
