keryx: (sing it)

Some people seem to be superbly able to sum things up. I am not. I've been trying for no apparent reason and with only a little success to sum up my musical taste for the past few days.

You try! Describe your musical taste in 3 bullet points or less, something that would take you, say, 15 seconds to speak aloud.

Mine.
words that make me think
a feeling of progression (emotionally speaking)
singability

I can't even venture into genres, because what I like just isn't summarizable into a couple of genres. I don't know many people for whom it is.

Lyrics I can identify with and a melody good enough to lodge in my unreceptive brain. Singability helps too. I think this is why my music collection is so female singer-songwriter-heavy.

- words that don't specifically piss me off
- at least some structure
- lots of feeling without yet sometimes with hyperbole

i often group your first in with my singability concept. my ability to sing is also contingent on my not feeling ashamed of the lyric.

which sometimes means i can't tolerate music that's grammatically incorrect, even. let alone piss-off-making.
