There is just nothing like February in Virginia. It's one of my favorite things about living in this area. I'm pretty sure it even beats out February in delightful tropical climes.
Last night it was a pleasant 50-something, and this afternoon there were 6 inches of ice in my outdoor trash can. This past week it snowed and it was 60. It's like a daily reminder not to presume you know what to expect next, all happening while the days get steadily longer and longer and spring stealthily slides in.
Whenever this state or country starts acting really stupid, I think of February.
