When I was a kid, I believe it was Maffachufetts. I spent a lot of time in Williamsburg/Jamestown, and I'm pretty sure the first time I saw that state's name was in some colonial shit.

Anyhow. We're embarking on our wacky roadtrip tonight, and will be home from FAT-A on Monday. If you're on our way and want to meet up on our travels, let me know.

I'm a little anxious (as I tend to be when travelling), but I'm thrilled about travelling with my grrrls, meeting folk, having my fat batteries recharged with the brilliant speakage and I hope seeing a little of Northampton. It looked like a cool town when we drove through it (when we saw The Hippies) many moons ago.

You are going to the Home of Good Icecream. Both Bart's (http://www.bartshomemade.com/) and Herrell's have shops in Northampton. If you are at all an ice cream fan, they are not to be missed.

Oh, hey! No chance you have time for a side trip to Boston, is there? Pity Northampton's a 2-hour drive and I have no car. It's a very cute town, though, and I'm sure you'll like it. There's this wonderful little chocolate shop near the Smith campus you should try - it's called Burdick's. Everybody in town knows it, so just ask someone where it is. Their hot chocolate is really like drinking melted real chocolate, it's so rich and thick.
