advice, please, oh shopping deities
May. 17th, 2006 02:36 pmMy office is going mobile. That means, basically, that I'll no longer have a designated seat/cube/whatever, and will work all over the Wilderness Office Park campus and from home.
This is where you come in. I need a bag. They'll give me a really ugly, oversized, not as functional as I'd like, bag (that looks exactly like my colleagues' bags - that sounds a bit dangerous). Or I can go find a bag I'm pleased to tote around with me all day. With most of my worldly possessions in it.
I'm thinking that's a laptop bag on wheels, right? You're all a delightful bunch of travelers, hipsters, geeks and just really good shoppers - where can I find this mystery bag?
It must:
1. have wheels (or a jet pack, something that means I don't always have to carry it)
2. be small enough to shift easily from daily use to travel (that is, must fit a pair of underpants, snacks, an iPod, etc. but still stow under a seat)
3. be large enough to fit my light 15-in work laptop
4. be attractive, cute, etc.
5. be available in pleasing colors like red, purple or shiny silver
6. preferably not be made out of dead animals
7. also have a shoulder strap
8. ideally be a serviceable spare pillow
9. have accessible bags for things like cellphones and blackberries
10. make me happy when I tuck my computer into it every morning after breakfast

I don't think any of them are on wheels, though, but I was at Target and in the luggage section they carry the little fold up frames with wheels that you can lash your laptop bag to.

I think you can customize the colors a bit for more money.
I like it at lot.
