So, my blog somehow ended up a place where people I don't know tell me stuff about local Curves franchises.

Which, you know, rocks.

I've learned some kinda cool stuff about different franchises - like, some of them deliberately go against the anti-abortion, religious and weight loss sentiments of the company overall. Yes, they're still financially (to an extent) and symbolically associated with Gary Heavin, but it makes the issue much more complicated if you have a feminist woman owning a local franchise. So my advice is, if you've thought about Curves, talk to the owner(s) of your local franchise(s). Cause she could be doing stuff to counteract the right-winginess of the company overall, stuff that might be interpreted as subversion from within.

Hey! This is OT- but I called to make an appointment for a haircut and the woman I spoke to said Melony has cancer and won't be in this week. Do you know how she's doing?

Yeah, she's doing really well. I got my hair cut earlier this week, and she was joking and bitching about chemo and such, basically her usual self.

Thanks! That's good to know. The woman I spoke with said she gets pretyt worn out after chemo treatments and takes a week off afterward, so I didn't know if she was up to calls.

I'm going to get my haircut by Maya tonight- which is weird to me because I still think of her as fourteen!
