This is all my year-old computer is doing.

Also, the Apple support website is so ridiculously designed around "user friendliness" that it's trapped in one beginning to end user story that means it takes like 20 clicks to find the "I don't care if I have to pay you asshats $200, just fix the fucker for me" page. And when you get there, it's not 24x7.

This is me taking back every time I ever told someone to buy a Mac instead of a PC (and I've owned nothing but Macs since I was 12).

[ETA: Now it's just doing grey screen. Shame, its other paperweight setting was much prettier.]

I think I might call him and cry if he doesn't have time to look at it this week.

But think of the poor huddled masses without their very own Mac geek to protect them! Stupid Apple Support!

Swing by tonight, lets say 8-ish. ( at least two other people are coming by before then )

I even have a loaner for you: my genuine Henrico County iBook - fast enough for web stuff.

I still think its the screen.

Yay! My hero!

Er... Can we make it either later (9:30ish) or tomorrow shortly after 8? Much as I'd love to skip my troupe meeting this evening, I'm booked till 9:30.

ummm... how do you access the Apple support website if you, ummm... can't log on to your computer?

*confused look*

I'm also informed that Capitol Mac will ream you in terms of prices. They haven't learned that they aren't the only gig in town that sells macs.

hmmm, when i went my computer was under warrenty. i guess depending on how much the difference in price it was, i almost might prefer to pay more then to ever deal with the short pump mac store ever again. they are absolutely impossible to deal with. and i'm for real in the lower income bracket, so it really is THAT bad.

I don't know if they do warranty repairs or not, but I have had excellently good fortune with both MacService and TechRestore.

Won't help if the 'puter isn't a laptop, but I can't quite tell that from the pic.
