They offend me on about the same level as any chain letter, with their assumption that they can control my behavior. I don't do well with that assumption.
They offend me more because they imply that if you ignore them -- which to me is the only intelligent response to a chain letter -- then you do not support gay rights. It's like a "when did you stop beating your wife" thing.

I figure the idea that I - and most of the people I know on LJ - don't support rights for queer people is so laughable that that implication can't possibly made, I guess. Although posting "I heart gays" on your LJ almost ghettoizes The Gay in my mind, which is pretty offensive.
