[practice] long weekend

I don't think I picked up the harp or did anything other than recuperative CST stuff all weekend. I slept weirdly (3 hours one night, 15 the next) and Saturday
arovd and I did a little set with the Omega Mus at a nursing home. We should do that more often, cause we do not practice enough as a duet. I think we get caught up in teaching and end up less dedicated to our own practice. It was mostly solo improv despite being on stage at the same time, which is probably not what we needed to work on. Though we're certainly getting better at it - solo dancing neither bores nor terrifies me as it once did.
I had done a morning warm up before we went, and then didn't really do anything after except keep walking around. I came home, rested & did a couple of spinal rocks. I think I may have played on the big bouncy ball, too. Anyhow, I felt fine and woke up fine Sunday. It was only a few minutes.
Sunday local P.U.R.E. went up to DC to fill in with them for a student show that night (I'm not sure why we were dancing in a student gig, since we're a bunch of different levels, but the idea of kinda blessing the place was a good one). The idea of repeating the routine to the point where it actually got worse just a couple of hours before performance was less good. Everyone seemed really tired and needed food/perking up/hugs before going on stage - note to self: remember that people have limits, and to check on them. The get in a car, drive, dance repetitively, drive, sit for 2 hours, inhale unpleasant allergy-inducing smoke, then dance again plan is a bad one - the road trip was a blast, though. I was exhausted and cranky and needed a hot bath when I got home, and we didn't even get to watch the show (it was too full), so it wasn't that late. I'm surprised that I was so awake and relaxed yesterday - I hardly did any Intu-flow, and just played with my hoop for 10 minutes or so in the evening. I got my arms inside the hoop (a prelude to getting it around my shoulders - I think it's too big and heavy to bring up to my neck). Fun!
Tonight dance classes start! I'm going to use the holiday break and the slow movements we're starting with as a convenient reason to do a nice, slow mobility & conditioning section tonight. Plus we've got a ton of support from the tribe for class stuff now; I'm looking forward to it..
