My new furniture delivery peeps won't get rid of the old mattress for me! Eek!

So, um... anyone want a queen mattress. It's probably 7 years old, but it started out as a good mattress, so it's still comfortable.

Alternately, what are you supposed to do with a mattress? I know some communities have recycling places that will take care of them for you, but I can't find one in Richmond (nor for that matter do I have the means to hauling a queen-sized mattress anywhere).

copied from one of my vcu massmailers:
The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is joining Virginia Commonwealth University, the Fan District Association and the City of Richmond Police Department in offering VCU students and Fan residents the opportunity to get rid of unwanted bulk items during the annual "Throw It Out!" program through June 4. Large capacity roll-off dumpsters have been placed near the intersections of Grace and Ryland, Grove and Morris, Cary and Morris, and Grace and Mulberry. The city is collecting furniture, trash and other residential bulk items. Appliances should be left behind the dumpster. For more information, call 646-0999.

sooo... if you can get it to the fan, you can get rid of it.
