Of the like 80 comments on VP, only one other person said she wore a clean bra every day.

Is that what everyone else is doing? Fascinating! This is why the internet is so cool. How else would I know what other women do with their bras?!

I wash my bras with the left over shower gel in my poof (thus no wasted soap) in the shower each morning and hang them on the towel rack. I have about 10 in regular circulation, and they only take a day to dry. It has honestly never occured to me to wear a bra two days in a row (except when travelling).

Oh, and the nice thing about having so many bras and washing them by hand is that most every bra lasts a year or more. Except the plunge-front ones. Those don't last for shit.

Maybe it's my thing for lacey stuff or maybe I'm just smelly, but mine kinda DO stink after a day. ;)

i wear 'em til they stink and wash 'em in the washer. i'm a bad bra owner. i wish i didn't care if people saw my nipples so i could just not wear 'em at all!

i get the impression you're taking your lack of interest in bra-wearing out on your bras. you could always put bandaids over your nipples instead. though that sounds kinda painful.

And I have this weird thing about not generating so much trash - and also there's that sticky goo!

I don't hate my bras and abuse them on purpose; I just hold them to high standards of toughness. Actually at this point half the time I wear sports bras. :) Not that that helped, because on one of them one of the little hooks broke right off after the first wash. Grr.

Strangely, the eco-friendliness and cost (when we had no washer) of using the water and soap from my shower is how I ended up a daily washer. I couldn't care much less about destroying the bra itself, but it's efficient to wash it and me at the same time.

"til they stink" = 4-6 wears, i think.

That's hilarious.

I only have two bras (one black and one white), which I wear constantly. This is the first time I've owned more than one bra at a time. I wash them every few weeks--they never seem to get dirty. My bras always seem to last more than a year, but I don't buy the sheer or meshy types, which seem more delicate.

Ah, the joys of the internet.

Yay! Another minimalist bra-owner. I think if my boobs looked better without a bra (and if there wasn't the issue of comments/leers by assholes), I wouldn't bother with them at all.

The internet is a marvelous thing, I tell you. And this topic is funny as hell. Like, it would never occur to me that one might own only two bras. I'm apparently more high-maintenance than I think.

To be fair, I do also have a beige strapless bra, but I only wear it a few times a year and I've had it for at least three years so I don't generally count it.

The only thing I automatically assume is dirty after one wearing is undies. But lately it's been a bazillion degrees here and my bras are getting funky after one wearing -- I think I will gank your tip about washing them in the shower!

Wow that's an amazing idea about your bath puff. I don't regulary wear bras so this conversation is completely null and void to me. When I did wear them, I would where them for a week straigh, get them out of the hamper, etc.

I don't think I even own a bra for every day of the week. On the otherhand I have enough underwear to last me over a month without having to do laundry. :)

I rarely wear bras, but when I do, I definitely only wear them once. But that's because I have a chronic problem with rashes in moist areas, and if I re-wear clothes that have touched moist areas, the rashes get worse.

I wash mine in the machine...but they are all cotton and spandex sports bras, and basically indestructible.

Wow, this is amazing.

This summer I've been working as a lifeguard and swim instructor, so I'm seldom even wearing underwear. It's a blessed event- I really dislike bras but I have to wear them.

When I do wear one every day, I wash it maybe every week. I have two bras in rotation at once.

Shopping for bras is my least favorite thing in the universe.

Your least favorite thing in the universe? Wow. I'm actually quite fond of getting new bras.

I so wish I had the B breasts of my youth and could go braless, but alas I cannot. I do usually reuse bras, but I tend to wear them then leave them a day (to reform?) and then wear them again. Although I really like the shower idea, and have actually done that on vacation. So why not at home? Hmmm. I don't normally shower daily either. I have hair down to my arse and it doesn't like daily washings, and I hate getting in the shower and keeping part of my body dry. I know silly.

No, I totally get the not wanting to shower if you can't get all wet thing - I remember having casts on and never feeling CLEAN the whole time, since I couldn't get wet. I can't even imagine having lots of hair; I'd go insane. ;)

I don't even know how many bras I have but it's well into double figures. I get two days wear out of them, then they hang around on my floor for a while until I start running low and bung them all into the washing machine.
