They could be super-fun.

This is my favorite thing about vampires: when they are written as actually old, and perplexed by the present, nostalgic for the past, and just generally anachronistic.

They'd be even funnerer if they were crabby about it. Not just in lack of respect for social convention, though - since that's kinda their whole schtick.

Do you watch Being Human? It's a British show about a werewolf, ghost and vampire who all live togethor. That vampires on that show are portrayed differently that you usually see them. Of course the lead vampire is young dark and broody, but he plays the part a lot like a recovering addict (he doesn't want to kill anymore). There was one dotty old lady vampire, which cracked me up.
