Is it too much to ask that a progressive company not think genderedly?

I could be overreacting after the feminist porn spam yesterday, but I was flipping through Novica's "gifts for men" contemplating holiday stuff, and discovered that statues of nude women are considered art for men (there's one highly abstracted nude statue in the "for her" section, and like 10 nude women in "for him"). I don't think of nude statues as even remotely porn, but what does it say when you market them only of women and only to men?

Also, one of the progressive organizations I belong to has shared my email address with a load of other groups I have no interest in. Grrr.

ETA: The TWOP recap of the Gilmores where Rory and Dean break up yet again, which indicts the girl for being indecisive and seducing stoopid married boy, claiming that stoopid adulterous boy is "too good" for the girl. I know Pamie hates Rory and all, but WTF?!

There are much worse things in the world, but I'm still feeling a little ire.

um, i think that pamie lurves dean in an overidentifying/history-rewriting kinda way, and so he can do no wrong, and rory = evil. i can't believe i'm now pondering subtext of RECAPS of stupid shows, not just the stupid shows.

I can't believe I've nearly been moved on more than one occasion to post on the forum to the effect of "dude, Pamie, your RECAP is anti-woman".

It's sad. Very sad. For both of us, really.
