It occurs to me that my overall quality of life (not to mention standard of living) has a strong positive correlation with weight and radicalism. That is, the fatter and more political I get, the better my life seems to be in general.

If I were to use the level of scientific inquiry common to most commonly reported scientific discoveries (Tomatoes, good for you! 400,000 fat people die yearly!), I could clearly deduce that being fat and liberal makes you happier and likely to earn more money. Ergo, everyone should gain weight and join some liberal activist organizations.

It's no more absurd than many other "scientific" conclusions. I just have a smaller sample size.
